Joanna Gubman
Joanna Gubman is the former Assistant Program Manager for the California Sustainability Alliance, and a former Managing Consultant in the Energy Efficiency & Sustainability Strategies group of Navigant Consulting’s Energy Practice. Joanna is currently pursuing a fellowship in Germany with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation German Chancellor Fellowship hosted by BSW-Solar, the German solar energy industry association. Her experience has focused on analyzing technologies and policies to improve energy efficiency, including analysis and implications of the Big/Bold Initiatives of the CPUC Long Term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan (net zero energy new buildings and widespread adoption of whole-house retrofits); identification & promotion of emerging technologies for utility energy efficiency incentive programs; and development of corporate sustainability initiatives.Prior to joining Navigant Consulting, Ms. Gubman worked as a systems engineering intern at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and as a mechanical engineering intern at the German Aerospace Center Institute for Vehicle Concepts in Stuttgart. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, where she also worked as a researcher in design and robotics.
