Green Local Government - Measures
A wide range of sustainability options are available to local governments to help meet the state’s aggressive clean energy, resource efficiency and environmental sustainability goals. For example:

The California Sustainability Alliance is developing tools, information and techniques to help local governments make informed decisions about sustainability choices such as:
- What are the most effective and important actions that local governments can take to reduce energy, water, waste and carbon impacts within their jurisdictions?
- Which sustainability options are best suited to meet the jurisdiction’s unique local priorities?
- What kinds of resources are required to implement these actions?
- What types of technical and financial support are available to help local governments achieve their clean energy, resource efficiency and environmental sustainability goals?
The Alliance is the lead implementer for the California Department of Conservation’s Emerald California pilot program that is building partnerships among state agencies and local governments to help achieve California’s ambitious resource and environmental policy goals.
