Green Local Government - Strategies
The Alliance provides information and tools that help local governments make better decisions about their sustainability options. These tools are designed to reduce barriers to sustainability implementation by helping local governments to:
- Navigate California’s complex maze of resource efficiency and environmental sustainability policies, rules and regulations to understand what is mandatory and what is voluntary
- Understand the relative costs and benefits of sustainability options and tailor the mix of green policies, goals, programs, practices, measures and technologies to meet the unique needs and interests of local jurisdictions
In addition to providing web-based information and tools, the Alliance provides robust networks for sharing information about best-in-class sustainability policies, programs and measures, and about proven strategies for overcoming sustainability barriers.
