BPCP’s Sustainable Project Process

The steps of BPCP’s Sustainable Project Process are as follows:

  • EducationFacility Directors meet monthly for peer-to-peer learning and training.
  • AuditsCCSE conducted energy audits in the Park.
  • Identify PrioritiesBased on audits, institutions identify opportunities and choose project focus areas.
  • Identify Incentives: BPCP and SDG&E partnered to create an Incentives and Rebates program to discount energy efficiency projects.
  • Identify Funding: BPCP and SDG&E partnered to create an On Bill Financing option and BPCP applied for federal stimulus funds (EECBG).
  • Implement Projects:Institutions have completed over 40 projects in the Park saving an average of 5.4 million kWh annually.
  • Showcase ProjectsBPCP and Facility Directors share achievements at meetings and events for Park staff and the public.
  • Identify AwardsBPCP applies for awards like the 2010 Showcase Awards to pass on the collaboration message of Balboa Park Sustainability Program.
